Our First Build Day!
We're building Purr Pods...FINALLY!!!
This week I hope to finish the rolling platform on which each cat will be built before the weekend. That is our first big hurdle.
Depending on whether we get that done before this weekend, we may be building the platform ourselves and ramps to roll it in and out of the shop.
We may also work on organizing the shop and preparing the storage yard with a natural weed killer (vinegar, epsom salts and Dawn dishwashing liquid).
Possibly during this work day we can assemble the first plywood 3D cat. I'll need a few hands for that as it is large and bulky and a bit complicated.
Saturday, April 20th, 12 noon - 6pm. We can work later if the mood strikes.
Terra Incognita, 420 Ohio Avenue, Richmond CA, 94804.
Show up anytime**, leave whenever you need to.
Be prepared to get dirty.
Bring work gloves and a water bottle.
We'll have drinks and snacks.
**Please let me know when you're coming, include your phone number, by sending me an email:

And sign up for future work party announcements here. I'll add you to the Mailchimp list.
Next week we apply chicken wire (I have 600 square feet on order!) and other wire mesh around the plywood cat to flesh out the shape.
Next up - drywall papier-mâché! We will slather the mesh with two rounds of newspaper/brown paper bags (bring brown paper bags if you have extras!) and drywall mud to finish the shape of the cat. The drywall mud is fire resistant which makes it perfect to tack weld the metal as we sculpt the cat.
Thank mew!!!! >^..^<
